1Disclosure Comes First
A paid link is labelled before the recommendation it belongs to, not in a footnote underneath it. In the app the badge sits above the list, and that order is a rule rather than a layout preference.
2Fit Comes Before the Money
Whether a product can be monetised is stored separately from everything that decides whether it suits you, and suitability is always decided first. It is consulted in three places, and only after fit:
- Whether a buy button can be drawn at all.
- Breaking a tie between picks. When picks for a step are equal on how well they suit you, on whether you can buy them where you live, and on whether we vetted them ourselves, one we can link to comes before one we cannot. A worse fit never comes before a better one because it pays.
- Breaking a tie between shops. When more than one shop sells a product, a shop that has it in stock comes first, and then the cheapest wins. Only when two prices are within about three percent, or a dollar, of the cheapest does the one that pays us more get the button.
This is a structural claim, not a promise about our intentions. It is arranged that way so that changing our minds would take a code change rather than a decision.
3Own It First
If something already on your shelf does the job, Mirror says so and recommends nothing. The whole shelf feature exists so that the answer to "what should I buy" can be "nothing", which is the one answer that earns us nothing.
4How Prices are Shown
A price Mirror estimates says so, as in "about $18", rounded to the dollar because it is our estimate rather than a quote. A price a shop listed in its own product feed is shown as listed, with the shop's name beside it; it was the shop's price when we last read the feed, and it may have changed since. Either way, the retailer sets the real price at checkout.
A per-use figure beside a price is arithmetic on that price, not a claim about value.
5No Invented Voices
Mirror does not and will not generate reviews, testimonials or quotes and present them as something a person said. People say is a summary written by AI from pages a Google search returned, labelled as an AI summary, with those pages listed beneath it. Its short takes are paraphrases, not quotes, and are never attributed to a person. When the search finds nothing to go on, the panel says so rather than filling the space.
6Nothing About Your Face Is Sold
Face data is never used for marketing or advertising and never reaches a retailer or an affiliate network. An outbound link carries the product's identifier and the name of the screen you tapped it on, and nothing else: no user id, no device id, no scan id, and nothing derived from anything about you. Two different people tapping the same product on the same screen produce the same link.
7Which Retailers
Mirror has joined the affiliate programs of six shops, all through the CJ affiliate network: eCosmetics, Stylevana, DermSilk, MakeUp Eraser, The Ayurveda Experience and NeoGenesis.
The app shows and links to products from two of them. eCosmetics is a shop in the United States. Stylevana is based in Hong Kong, and the listings Mirror carries are from its US store. Prices from both are in US dollars, as each shop lists them for the United States, and a link opens that shop's US site wherever you are. Where one of them sells a product, the buy button names that shop. Where neither does, the app tells you to buy it wherever you like, and a link to it opens our own product page rather than a shop.
Mirror does not show or link to products from DermSilk, MakeUp Eraser, The Ayurveda Experience or NeoGenesis. We have joined their programs, so this page names them, but nothing in the app earns from them today.
When a retailer is added or dropped, this page names it and the version at the top changes with it.

Ask, and you will get a straight answer.
Reminder. Mirror is not the seller. Anything you buy is a contract between you and the retailer, on the retailer's terms.
